Rites & Rituals Opened February 1st at Art Angels
Rites & Rituals stems from my love and fascination with symmetry, circular repetition, and the use of the human body in worship. There are 2 levels to study and appreciate: one on the macro level, where the body acts as merely a small abstract piece of large and elaborate whole; and one on the micro, where the body itself is a form to be revered. This is the same in worship, where the relationship is with one’s self, yet also part of a greater whole. The focus changes on your distance and perspective. We are all independent, yet we are all one together, able to create something larger and greater than ourselves.
