James Dean was an American actor in the 1950s who became a touchpaper for teenage rebellion before his untimely death aged 24. Dean featured in only three feature-length films, most famously as Jim Stark in Rebel Without a Cause in 1955. Portraying an emotionally unstable young man whose demons lead him to violence, Dean was acclaimed for his accuracy in capturing teenage angst.
