The series "Mother. Nature.” is inspired by the Greco-Roman goddess who is the personification of nature, life-giving and nurturing abilities of a mother. Flowers have a simple purpose in nature, reproduction. Butterflies, bees and other insects’ survival is dependent on the petals. The flowers serve the same purpose for insects as mothers do for their children.
Jennie Vinter is a Los Angeles-based sculpting artist, known for her feminine life casting sculptures. Jennie was born in a small town in Sweden, raised by a single mother of Norwegian descent.
Inspired by various cultures and their differentiating views on nudity, she began experimenting with artistic expression to convey her own view on the body and its elements. Her work is a modern twist of the ancient Greco-Roman statues. All her pieces are cast from real women and left un-retouched. By placing the sculptures on canvas, she creates beautiful textured wall mounted statues.
